The FLHS - Branch 5 celebrates “International Day of Peace”

The Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences – Branch 5 organized a scientific and cultural conference on the occasion of the “International Day of Peace”, under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Soha El Samad.

 

The conference was attended by the Branch Director, Dr. Ahmad Nasrallah, the former Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Wafaa Berry, the teaching staff representative, Dr. Dalia Khraybani, the Head of the Research Center, Dr. Maggy Obeid, the Director of the Center of Language Sciences & Communication, Dr. Ali El Dika, and the Director of the French Cultural Center in Saida, Mrs. Bérénice VeLez. The conference was also attended by representatives from a number of private universities and associations, as well as a large crowd of faculty members, staff, and students.

 

The conference was titled “From Destruction to Building Hope: How Can the Humanities Understand and Address the Traumas of War?” and was coordinated by Dr. Faten Kobrosli.

The conference sessions focused on wars and their psychological effects, societal transformations, human identity in times of war, war narratives, and the challenges of expression and political reconciliation, presented by a group of professors and researchers.
